About the Team RWDI's Americas Acoustics group offers a full spectrum of acoustical consulting services, from architectural acoustics, to noise and vibration control for building systems, environmental acoustics, and expert troubleshooting. Our team takes on an exciting range of projects, including healthcare facilities, corporate HQs, civic buildings, educational campuses, resorts, and more. Whether it's consulting on healthcare, residential buildings, convention centers, or performing arts spaces, we help clients deliver an exceptional acoustic experience, tailored to the needs of the project. Position We are seeking a JUNIOR ACOUSTICAL CONSULTANT to join our team in Culver City/Los Angeles, California , working on vibrant projects across multiple sectors from hospitality to healthcare. The role includes but is not limited to: Conducting field measurements at commercial, residential, institutional, and industrial sites primarily around the greater Los Angeles area. Reviewing architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings. Producing high quality, thoughtful analysis (e.g., sound isolation, room acoustics, building systems noise and vibration, etc.) using commercially available software packages and in-house tools. Adhering to a defined quality assurance process. Communicating complex technical concepts in straight-forward language. Preparation of technical reports and communicating with clients. Attending meetings to discuss and present reports. Visiting construction sites to review progress and address concerns during construction. Reviewing and responding to requests for information and product submittals during construction. Effective time management to meet deadlines on multiple projects. Taking ownership of your contribution to project timeline and budget to deliver a successful project from data acquisition through analysis, consulting, and reporting. Taking a client-focused approach, where your technical skills support the success of your client's projects. Note that this role does not involve project management. There is, however, substantial opportunity to build relationships with clients and support the project management team. We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree (preferred) in acoustics, or a related subject. Acoustical experience an asset, but not required if degree is in acoustics. Valid driver's license. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of common architectural terms, structures, building systems and design practices. Ability to read, understand, interpret, and analyze architectural and technical drawings, specifications, and other related materials. Experience with acoustic and/or noise prediction software such as TAP, Odeon, INSUL, Cadna/A and Cadna/B is an asset. Experience with acoustic data acquisition systems and/or Bruel and Kjaer or Larson Davis sound level meters is an asset. Professional Skills: Excellent writing, listening and verbal communications skills, with a strong commitment to learning. Time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, work under strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment, interface effectively with team members, management, and address multiple requests. Proactive, conscientious, and flexible, with a strong work ethic. Passion for acoustics, building/construction, and design. Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information.
