Unitherm is a leading industrial insulation contractor based in Charlotte, NC, specializing in high-quality mechanical and thermal insulation solutions for industrial, commercial, and institutional clients. As we continue to expand, we are looking for a highly motivated Assistant Construction Estimator to join our growing team.

The Assistant Construction Estimator will support the estimating department in evaluating project requirements, performing takeoffs, compiling cost data, and preparing accurate and detailed proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in construction estimating—no prior estimating experience is required. We will provide training and mentorship to help you develop into a skilled estimator.

• Assist in reviewing project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Perform material and labor takeoffs for industrial insulation and related scopes
• Prepare cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages
• Maintain and update project data, pricing information, and estimate templates
• Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and project managers as needed
• Support the estimating team with administrative and analytical tasks
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness in all estimating work

• Strong computer skills required , including Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn specialized software
• Excellent analytical skills with a focus on accuracy and problem-solving
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (or willingness to learn)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of HVAC or mechanical systems is a major plus , but not required
• No prior experience in estimating necessary—training will be provided
