Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Bricklayer / Masonry professional to join our team as an Instructor at our vocational academy. This is an ideal opportunity for someone nearing retirement who is passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise with the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a big plus, but not required for employment.
Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver hands-on instructional programs in bricklaying and masonry techniques.
Teach students the safe and efficient use of tools and equipment specific to the trade.
Provide one-on-one instruction and guidance to students with varying skill levels.
Create lesson plans and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
Foster a safe, professional, and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve the program.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, techniques, and best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Bricklayer / Masonry professional.
Extensive knowledge of bricklaying and masonry techniques, tools, and materials.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Patience and empathy when working with students of varying skill levels.
Willingness to relocate to the Bristol, VA or Kingsport, TN area.
Prior teaching or mentoring experience is preferred but not required.
