Job Description

PanCare is seeking a passionate and dynamic Community Health Educator to support our Drug Free Communities (DFC) initiative. In this role, you’ll lead education efforts that address the stigma of substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD), while promoting prevention, treatment, and recovery. You’ll collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, hospitals, consortium partners, and the broader community—including patients, families, and friends—to share knowledge, foster understanding, and strengthen pathways to healthier futures.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee activities of the DFC education program.
  • Present training and educational modules in community and school settings.
  • Conduct extensive community education using the mobile trailer as the venue and ensure that the vehicle is appropriately stocked for community events.
  • Attend monthly calls with the CDC and contribute to program-wide evaluation.
  • Execute and review data reports and invoices for submission to CDC.
  • Maintain and distribute a schedule for community health programming.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a public media and outreach plan.
  • Provide community and partner training in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR), Project Alert, Strengthening Families Program (SFP), and stigma.
  • Report on project goals, objectives, and procedures.
  • Ensure timely and budget-compliant completion of work plan activities.
  • Provide the Strengthening Families Program (SFP) to families with students attending middle and high schools, as well as foster parents served by Northwest Florida Health Network.
  • Collaborate with Network members to identify resources for education services.
  • Create and disseminate project results package.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis to identify opportunities for project goals.
  • Oversee data collection and reporting for the program.
  • Analyze data from members and community forums.
  • Monitor media and outreach progress towards objectives and outcomes.
  • Respond to daily email and telephone requests.
  • Participate in continuing professional development activities.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in health education, substance use prevention, behavioral health, recovery support or community outreach required.
  • Experience facilitating group trainings or educational sessions.
  • Valid driver’s license.
