Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Low Voltage Cable Technicians in West Des Moines, IA. As a trusted partner in the construction industry, we connect top talent with top companies across the United States.

Job Type: Contract to Hire
Pay: $19 to $22 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

• Pull, route, and secure low-voltage cables including CAT 5/6, coaxial, and fiber optics in new construction environment.
• Install support structures, such as cable trays and conduit, for efficient cable routing.
• Troubleshoot cable infrastructure on commercial or industrial projects, identifying and resolving issues promptly.
• Collaborate with other trades and team members to complete projects.
• Rack and stack, closet work, and assembling server racks.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in structured cabling and telecommunications installation is a plus but not required. We welcome candidates at all skill levels.
• Knowledge of universal color codes for cable identification and labeling.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as EIA, TIA, BICSI, or NEC is not required, but preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Possession of necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and basic hand tools.
• Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit, stand, talk or hear, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, twist, and/or reach out for prolonged periods of time
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds at waist height for short distances, and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Overhead lifting: Must be able to occasionally lift 50 pounds overhead for short distances
• Must be able to push, pull and move up to 75 pounds at shoulder height
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to use tools
• Must be able to regularly carry and climb ladders up to 20 feet
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time
• Must be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones
• Must be able to work in tight, confided spaces at times
• Must be able to travel within territory as needed
• Must be aware of OSHA safety standards
• Noise levels are typically moderate

Pay Transparency: A reasonable estimate of the available hourly pay scale for this position is: $19 to $22 Per Hour BOE. The actual compensation offered may vary depending on qualifications and other factors essential to the performance of duties and is determined by the hiring authority.
