Director of Distribution and Logistics

Overview:

As a Director of Distribution and Logistics you will oversee the company’s multi-site distribution network, transportation strategy, and warehouse operations across North America. This leader is responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers while optimizing inventory flow, improving efficiency, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of strategic thinking, process improvement, team development, and operational execution.

Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic direction for all distribution and logistics activities across multiple warehouse locations.
• Oversee inbound and outbound freight management, transportation contracts, routing optimization, and carrier performance.
• Ensure all warehouses are operating efficiently and safely while meeting customer service and inventory targets.
• Develop and manage budgets for logistics and distribution operations; identify and drive cost savings initiatives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for order fulfillment, delivery accuracy, inventory accuracy, on-time performance, and cost per unit.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve operational performance.
• Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Planning, Manufacturing, Procurement) to ensure alignment between supply chain and customer demand.
• Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse and logistics management teams.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and safety regulations.
• Evaluate and implement warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics technologies to increase visibility and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive experience in distribution, logistics, and transportation, including 5+ years in a leadership role overseeing multi-site operations.
• Proven success managing large-scale warehouse operations and high-volume distribution centers.
• Experience with ERP and WMS systems; ability to analyze data and use metrics to drive performance.
• Strong understanding of freight and transportation logistics (LTL, FTL, parcel, import/export).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and change management skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% across Camco distribution centers and supplier location
