Electrical Estimator

Summary

We are looking for a skilled Electrical Estimator to manage projects from bid to completion . This role demands expertise in electrical estimating, project management, and client relations across Corporate Interiors, Healthcare, Retail, and Residential sectors.

Location: Office based in Novato, CA with projects throughout Bay Area

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 annually

What You Will Be Doing:

Estimating:

  • Perform accurate quantity take-offs from plans and specs
  • Develop detailed cost estimates (labor, materials, subcontracts)
  • Obtain and analyze vendor quotes
  • Maintain construction community relationships
  • Stay current with codes and industry trends
  • Maintain material cost databases
  • Strong experience with estimating software (Accubid) and construction software (Bluebeam)
  • Develop efficient estimating systems and procedures
  • Manage material procurement and drawing files (Procore, Dropbox, AutoCad, etc.)

Project Management:

  • Lead project teams, ensuring quality, meeting deadlines and budgets
  • Improve project management processes
  • Manage project schedules and adjust to changing needs
  • Communicate with clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee invoicing and negotiate change orders
  • Resolve contract and scope issues
  • Maintain relationships with architects, engineers, and GC's
  • Conduct site visits and manage project closeout

What You Bring:

  • Experience: 7-10+ years of electrical experience with proficiency in estimating and project management
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of commercial electrical construction, building codes, and NEC. Knowledge of mechanical and plumbing is a plus
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in blueprints, Accubid, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and standard office software
  • Project Management Skills: Proven ability to manage projects, budgets, and schedules
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial analysis, purchasing, and negotiation skills
  • Other: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a team. Familiarity with Union shops and lighting controls (Lutron, Vantage) is a plus
