The Electro/Mechanical Assembler I (Line lead) position requires a wide range of mechanical and electrical skills to assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment per required specifications in a manufacturing environment, while reports and aids a Production Supervisor on training current and new employees. Performs the mechanical, electrical assemble, and fabrication of mechanical parts for a wide range of Lighting Contactors and Advance Technology Products, and complete quality checks and audits, using a variety of tools and equipment per required specifications in manufacturing environment. Interact with Engineering and Production personnel. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Strong English communication skills necessary to read and interpret instructions, schematics, blueprints, and drawings. An understanding and proficient use of skills necessary to work from and solve problems using assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials. Identify parts by description, drawings and simple measurements. Operate a variety of hand tools as well drill presses, grinder, tape measures and vernier calipers. Build Contactors, Power Taps, and sub-assemblies from Shop Orders and wiring schematics and BOMs as needed. Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products per engineering specification changes. Ensure Production Logs are filled out properly. Perform periodic quality checks and audits to ensure the product meets quality standards. Provide follow up feedback to employees and supervisor regarding quality issues. Interact with Engineering on manufacturing issues and with Production Control regarding component issues and/or customer requirements. Work with Engineering on new product development. Ensure 5S is being maintained in the work areas. Train current and new employees on existing or new products and methods as needed. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Act as a backup in Kitting jobs. Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain a clean and safe work area. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a level of knowledge that is associated with a high school or Vocational school with one to three years of assembly experience. Must be capable of reading blueprints, drawings and schematics.
