Position Title: Environmental Commodities Trader Location: New York, Calgary , Houston Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Environmental Commodities Trader to join a leading commodities trading platform and growing Environmental Markets team. This role is responsible for executing trading strategies across carbon credits, renewable energy certificates (RECs), and other environmental instruments, with a focus on optimizing risk-adjusted returns and supporting the company's broader sustainability objectives. Key Responsibilities Execute trades in compliance and voluntary environmental markets, including but not limited to carbon offsets, RECs, and LCFS credits. Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and pricing dynamics to identify trading opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with counterparties, brokers, and market participants. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including risk, legal, sustainability, and finance teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and compliance standards. Contribute to the development of proprietary market insights and trading models. Qualifications ~ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Environmental Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. ~3+ years of experience in commodities, energy, or environmental markets trading. ~ Strong understanding of global carbon and renewable energy markets (e.g., EU ETS, CORSIA, VCM, LCFS). ~ Demonstrated ability to manage risk and deliver consistent trading performance. ~ Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
