Volks Resources has a requirement for multiple Fiber Splicers in the Brownsville, TX market to install and maintain fiber optic networks

You need a minimum of 2 years of previous Fiber Splicing experience, a Highschool diploma and great attention to detail.

Quality Control experience gets extra points.

This is a Field position and you must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform fusion/mechanical splicing of fiber optic cables.
• Test connectivity using OTDR, power meters, and other tools.
• Conduct QC inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, BICSI).
• Document splicing and QC results, including test reports and as-builts.
• Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic systems.
• Collaborate with field crews and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fiber splicing experience.
• Proven QC experience in fiber optic installations.
• Proficient with splicers, OTDRs, and testing equipment.
• Knowledge of fiber types, splicing techniques, and industry standards.
• Valid driver's license; ability to travel to job sites.
• High school diploma; FOA CFOT or BICSI certification preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Work in various environments (indoor/outdoor, heights, confined spaces).
• Lift up to 50 lbs; handle physically demanding tasks.
