SUMMARY Arcticom, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Front-End Web Developer in Suitland, MD. This front-end developer position involves developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript-based frameworks, particularly Angular. Other duties may be assigned. Developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript-based frameworks, particularly Angular (including Angular Material UI). While primarily a front-end role, some experience with server-side frameworks, particularly Java and JSP, is preferred as you'll occasionally overlap and back up our Senior Java Developer. Designing applications and refactoring code for optimal design, performance, modularization, and to eliminate redundancies. Commitment to code security and integrity, utilizing tools like GitHub code scanning and CodeQL to identify and remediate vulnerabilities. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications A bachelor’s degree is required 3-5 years of experience in Front-End Web Development Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Strong experience developing and maintaining web applications using JavaScript-based frameworks, particularly Angular (including Angular Material UI). Familiarity with other frameworks, such as React and Vue, is a plus. Experience with Docker (or similar) for local development, testing, and deployment to various application environments. Experience developing and maintaining applications in cloud environments, whether on Virtual Machines (VMs) or in containerized clusters. Experience with DevOps best practices, including: Writing and maintaining code using GitHub, including familiarity with branching strategies (e.g., GitFlow), release management, rebasing, and maintaining clean commit history. Working with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitHub Actions) to create and maintain automated build and deployment processes Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, and Bootstrap. Experience with service-oriented architecture and microservices, especially working with RESTful API services. You'll architect applications and refactor code for optimal design, performance, modularization, and to eliminate redundancies. Familiarity with Node.js applications and managing packages using npm. The job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily in a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
