Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically agile HR Assistant to support and strengthen internal HR operations. This role goes beyond administrative tasks, providing ownership of HRIS workflows, leave administration, and employee lifecycle processes. The position is designed for someone with HR knowledge and experience who can grow with the company, ensuring compliance, maintaining accurate records, and identifying opportunities for process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

HRIS Administration & Data Integrity
  • Maintain and ensure accuracy of employee records within the HRIS.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot HRIS workflows including onboarding, promotions, terminations, and leaves of absence.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reporting to support compliance and leadership needs.
Employee Lifecycle & Compliance
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding activities to ensure compliance and consistency.
  • Manage employee changes (promotions, transfers, terminations) and coordinate with Payroll and Accounting.
  • Ensure policies and procedures align with federal and state regulations and update HRIS accordingly.
Leave of Absence (LOA) Administration
  • Administer, track, and communicate leave of absence processes, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
  • Maintain documentation and serve as a resource for employees and managers navigating LOA.
Process Improvement & Project Support
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows, reporting, and automation.
  • Partner with HR leadership to implement new policies, programs, and system enhancements.
  • Support special HR projects as the company scales.
Employee & Manager Support
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal HR-related questions.
  • Provide guidance and training on HRIS processes and policy updates.
  • Build effective communication channels with managers to ensure smooth HR operations.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent HR experience.

• 2-4+ years of HR experience, preferably in an HRIS, HR Generalist, or HR support role.

• Strong knowledge of HR best practices, compliance requirements, and leave administration.

• High technical agility with HR systems; preference for candidates with UKG Ready platform experience.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a growing company.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
