We are looking for a skilled Sewing Machine Operator to sew textile products on Industrial single-needle sewing machines. A great machine operator is reliable and able to work with attention to detail and safety standards. Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. We are a high-end quality manufacturer and take great pride in turning out a top quality product. The ideal candidate will care about and take great pride in doing high quality work.

*Note that shop is multi-lingual, with fluent Spanish and Gujarati speakers on the premises, as well as English.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines (calibration, cleaning etc.) to sew each project with correct materials and colors
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix minor issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any mistakes or flaws in materials or workmanship
• Keep records of methods and procedures used by this company to create our products

Skills

• Proven experience as a sewing machine operator (sewing sample will be required)
• Working knowledge of single head industrial sewing machines. Knowledge of merrow machines and computerized embroidery machines would be an added bonus.
• Understanding of production procedures
• Adherence to health and safety regulations
• Attention to detail and willingness to follow established manufacturing procedures

• Teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina and strength, as some items we make are larger sized (blankets for horses to wear)
