We are hiring plumbers in Austin, TX.

• Apprentice Plumbers
• Journeyman Plumbers
• Med Gas Plumbers

Position Summary

As a plumbing apprentice, journeyman plumber or med gas plumber, you will support commercial construction projects by installing plumbing systems according to your positions capabilities and parameters.

Job Type: Full-time Journeyman Plumber, depending on experience.

Work Location : In person

Salary: $34.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift

License/Certification:

• MedGas Certification (Preferred)
• Plumbing Apprentice License (Preferred)
• Journeyman Plumbing License (Preferred)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Commercial plumbing installation from underground/rough ins, stack out to trim outs on large scale commercial and industrial construction projects such as, healthcare, government, educational, manufacturing, data centers and others.
• Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how/where to install plumbing systems.
• Measures, marks dimensions and lay out material to be installed using tools such as lasers, rulers, calculators, and squares transit lasers.
• Solder, braze with oxygen & acetylene, use glue and primer for CPVC/PVC, cast iron, poly pipe, pex pipe.
• Install hanger assemblies for piping using unistrut, nuts washers, and clevis hangers.
• Ensure that efficiency is maximized while fabricating and installing Plumbing systems.
• Use of hand/power tools.
• Install systems according to specifications and appropriate trade/building codes.
• Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned.

Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications

• 2 + years of commercial plumbing experience
• Current / valid applicable license in Texas (e.g., Journeyman License, Apprentice License, Master License, Med Gas)
• Experience leading / coaching an apprentice and/or helper.
• Plumbing Apprentices with some knowledge of plumbing are encouraged to apply. MTech will provide training.

Preferred Skills

• OSHA 10 hour or OSHA 30
• Medical Gas Certification endorsement (if applying for med gas), or ability to obtain.

Additional Requirements

• Requires basic mechanical aptitude, mathematical and English language skills.
• Complies and promotes company Safety Policy
• Regular and punctual attendance.
• Ability to stand, squat, bend, climb, stoop and comfortably lift up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.
• Ability to pass a physical ability test.
