Kindergarten Teacher’s Aide
Reports to Associate Head of School

At Branch, we believe in the power of loving to learn, learning to lead, and leading with love. These guiding principles shape our community and mission. We are seeking an energetic and compassionate teacher’s aide to work alongside our Kindergarten teacher for the 25-26 school year.
As a school serving students from Pre-K through 8th grade, The Branch School promotes curiosity, creativity, leadership, and integrity. The ideal candidate will be kind, collaborative, flexible, and passionate about working with young children in a warm, student-centered learning environment. They should be able to interact with students, parents and colleagues in a professional manner that allows for collaboration and cooperation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
· Assist the Kindergarten teacher in delivering a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
· Support hands-on learning activities that foster student engagement and foundational academic and social-emotional skills.
· Reinforce lessons and instructions through one-on-one and small group support.
· Help prepare instructional materials, organize classroom resources, and maintain a well-structured classroom environment.
· Observe and document student behavior and progress to support the lead teacher’s assessment and planning.
· Maintain confidentiality regarding student records, observations, and any sensitive information in accordance with school policies.
Supervision of Students
· Maintain a safe, positive, structured, and organized classroom environment that fosters respect, cooperation, and independence.
· Supervise students during classroom activities, outdoor play, snack/lunch times, and transitions to ensure their well-being and safety.
· Provide active supervision during class activities, transitions, outdoor play, lunch, and dismissal.
· Promote and model respectful behavior, problem-solving, and independence in young learners.
· Assist in implementing classroom routines and behavior management systems that align with school values.
· Maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive classroom climate.
Professional Development and Collaboration
· Collaborate positively with the lead teacher and other staff to support a team-oriented approach to teaching.
· Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development as requested.
· Demonstrate a willingness to learn and grow through feedback and observation.
· Maintain professional and effective communication with colleagues and administrators.
Other Duties as Assigned
· Participate in school events, including Open Houses and community programs.
· Support school-wide activities and special projects as needed.
· Welcome prospective families and visitors during classroom observations.
· Uphold the school’s mission and values in all interactions with students, parents, and staff.
· All other duties assigned
Qualifications:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred
Prior experience working in a preschool or elementary classroom setting strongly preferred.
· A strong understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices.
· Ability to take direction and initiative while working in a team environment.
· Professional, reliable, and nurturing demeanor.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite is a plus.
Physical Demands can include:
· Lifting: Carrying and lifting children, sometimes up to 50 pounds.
· Bending: Bending, stooping, and squatting to lift and carry children
· Sitting: Sitting on the floor or in child-sized furniture
· Reaching: Reaching above shoulder height to store and remove items
· Walking: Walking on indoor and outdoor surfaces, including uneven surfaces
· Climbing: Climbing steps or platforms to place or remove items from overhead storage
· Moving quickly: Moving quickly in response to emergencies
Job Start date: August 1, 2025
Salary and Benefits:
• Salary Range- $30,000 to $38,000
