Job Title: Maintenance MechanicJob Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will assist in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems. You will perform routine tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, belt replacements, and basic adjustments. Supporting the setup and teardown of production equipment during line changes is also a key part of this role. Your responsibilities will include documenting maintenance activities and equipment issues in maintenance tracking systems, maintaining a clean and organized maintenance area, and following 5S standards. You will adhere to all safety procedures and use proper PPE while performing job duties. Additionally, you will assist with facility-related repairs and participate in maintenance training and skill development programs. You will also support emergency maintenance needs as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, filter changes, and belt replacements.
• Support setup and teardown of production equipment during line changes.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, following 5S standards.
• Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE.
• Assist with facility-related repairs such as lighting and minor plumbing.
• Participate in maintenance training and skill development programs.
• Support emergency maintenance needs.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior industrial or mechanical experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the maintenance team.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and climb for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, and noisy environments depending on plant conditions.
• Able to work from ladders, scaffolding, or elevated platforms as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blacksburg, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.73 - $28.73/hr.
