Overview Del Oro Water Company is seeking a full-time Entry-Level WATER UTILITY METER READER for the BUTTE COUNTY (PARADISE/MAGALIA), CA area. Del Oro Water will train the ideal candidate in the following: Responsibilities Water meter reading, installation, and maintenance Repairing leaks in service lines, mainlines, valves, and hydrants Maintaining buildings and grounds Operating a variety of manual and power tools, including light to heavy equipment, performing related work as required Be willing and able to perform heavy, manual labor in ALL weather conditions Be able to work independently Live in or be willing to relocate within 15 minutes travel time to the Paradise/Magalia, CA area Be willing and able to work on-call/standby hours, weekends and long hours may be required Pass a physical and a drug test Water Utility Field Technician is considered a “first responder” during emergency conditions; candidates must live within twenty (15) minutes travel time of Districts Operations.
