At Primex Clinical Laboratories, we're dedicated to enhancing health with precision and passion. Since 1996, our presence in clinical diagnostics has been unwavering, serving clients across Central and Southern California, Nevada, and American Samoa. We pride ourselves on delivering personalized service and high-quality testing with quick, accurate results.

Job Summary

The Mobile Phlebotomist represents the face of Primex Clinical Laboratories, Inc. to patients in a variety of settings, including physician offices, medical clinics, patient homes, and other off-site collection locations. As a key representative of Primex, the Mobile Phlebotomist provides quality, skillful, and safe blood collection services while maintaining professionalism and delivering an exceptional patient experience.

This role is ideal for a highly skilled phlebotomist who enjoys working independently, traveling between assigned locations, and building patient trust through clear communication and compassionate care. The Mobile Phlebotomist ensures specimens are collected, processed, and transported according to established practices and procedures, supporting accurate and timely laboratory testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to various collection sites—including physician offices, clinics, and patient homes—to collect specimens following established procedures.
  • Perform high-quality phlebotomy services, including pediatric and geriatric draws, while ensuring patient comfort and confidence.
  • Verify patient identity, explain procedures clearly, and confirm specimen labeling in the patient’s presence.
  • Administer oral solutions (e.g., Glucola) in accordance with training and protocols.
  • Review test and client information; confirm and verify orders using laboratory systems or the directory of services.
  • Accurately complete data entry, including patient registration, test orders, billing details, and standing order management.
  • Process specimens properly (labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing) and maintain integrity during storage and transport to the laboratory.
  • Manage inventory, stock supplies, and maintain logs and required statistics.
  • Stay current with company policies, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures, while maintaining up-to-date phlebotomy skills.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, clients, and internal teams, promptly reporting concerns or unusual situations.
  • Participate in meetings, special projects, and company initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of phlebotomy experience preferred; mobile or off-site collection experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills; able to build rapport and maintain professionalism with diverse patient populations.
  • Flexible availability to meet territory or staffing needs.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required; mileage reimbursement provided per company policy.
  • Commitment to company policies, safety protocols, quality standards, and professional presentation.
  • Comfortable using technology for order verification, data entry, and communications.

Additional Requirements

  • May require occasional weekend availability
  • Must be highly reliable, courteous, and team-oriented
  • Strong adaptability to changing priorities and workflow
