Part-Time People Operations & Accounting Specialist

What you should know: Mulberry has partnered with a local wine consultant in Salem, OR with a mission to support boutique wineries through full-scale operations—including farming, winemaking, compliance, and sales. With a small but mighty team of about 30, they work closely with winery clients and are steadily growing. As the company builds more structure, they’re seeking part-time support in HR, payroll, and bookkeeping—approximately 10–15 flexible hours per week, with potential to grow. This remote role will support both the COO and Controller and focus on HR data tracking, payroll, and monthly invoicing. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in a long-term, mission-driven opportunity. You will report directly to COO.

A day in the life:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
• Coordinate payroll processes and maintain related documentation.
• Track HR data and employee records in alignment with compliance standards.
• Serve as a resource for employee questions on payroll, benefits, and general HR topics.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Assist with monthly invoicing and reporting.
• Collaborate closely with the Controller and COO on special projects.

You areas of knowledge and expertise:

• 2–3 years of experience in accounting (AP/AR) and payroll
• 2+ years of experience in HR or People Operations preferred
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online
• Comfortable working independently and in a remote setting
• Experience in the wine industry or with small businesses is a plus

Compensation and Benefits: $30-33/HR.
