Prior Law Enforcement Court Security Officer, Miami, FL Join to apply for the Prior Law Enforcement Court Security Officer, Miami, FL role at Walden Security . Walden Security is currently recruiting experienced Court Security Officers. CSOs will provide armed security to courthouses under the USMS contract. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform entrance control: Enforce the District's entry and identification system, operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items (handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, etc.). Perform roving patrol: Patrol court facilities and grounds in accordance with applicable post orders. Perform stationary post assignments: Stand guard at stationary posts including monitoring CCTV, duress alarms, courtrooms, judge chambers, and jury rooms. Perform escort duties: Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, jurors, and other designated individuals as directed. Perform garage parking and pedestrian control: Direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties per post orders and standard operating procedures. Enforce law and order: Detain any person attempting unauthorized access to government property or court proceedings, or who attempts acts that imperil safety and security. Prepare reports and records: Report labor hours, accidents, fire, bomb threats, unusual incidents, or unlawful acts within the court facility area. Court attendance: Secure unattended courtrooms, inspect courtrooms prior to proceeding, test security devices, and other duties concerning court area security. Preserve order: Provide security presence in the courtroom, enforce federal and judicial orders, enforce local court rules on prohibited items, and protect court proceedings. Requirements Education: High school diploma or GED. Experience: At least 3 calendar years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or its military equivalency, all within last 7 years, including general arrest authority. Language: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English; understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules and procedures. Certificates/Licenses: Valid state driver's license, safe driving record for past five years; DOJ clearance; certification from certified Federal, state, county, local, or military law enforcement training academy. Other Qualifications: Minimum age 21; pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check clearance. Physical Demands: Meet USMS medical standards; reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
