Job Description

Event Strategies, Inc. (ESI) is a full service event production company based in Alexandria, VA.

ESI is in the market to hire a Graphic Designer with a passion to produce designs for both large and small scale events locally and nationwide. Events include conferences, trade shows, concerts, outdoor and indoor political speaking events, traveling shows, galas, fundraisers, and more. The ideal candidate will be responsible for digitally creating event branding, signage, digital assets, and decor elements for events across the nation. 

Compensation

  • Hourly/Day-Rate pay that is negotiable based on skill level and experience. Monthly retainers are also a potential offer that may be made.

Responsibilities

  • Design branding and visual identity for events, including logos, style guides, and print collateral
  • Create on-site graphics such as signage, stage backdrops, directional materials, and badges
  • Develop digital assets for website use, social media, and video presentations
  • Work closely with internal teams and clients to align designs with creative briefs and event themes
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment
  • Prepare files for print and coordinate with vendors on production specifications
  • Contribute fresh ideas and stay current on design trends, especially in event and experiential marketing

Qualifications

  • Effective in communicating and coordinating with colleagues
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, and weekends
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with clients and venue staff
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects is a plus)
  • Strong portfolio showcasing branding, print, and digital work
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Attention to detail and a passion for creative storytelling through design

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in a graphic design role (preferably in events, marketing, or experiential design)
  • Experience designing for large-scale formats (e.g., banners, signage) is highly desirable

Environment

  • Work performed ideally at the Alexandria, VA office but remote work options may be available 
  • Team members working times may be irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
