The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Regional State Senior Government Affairs Manager, you will have the opportunity to leverage your curiosity and collaborate with innovative professionals worldwide. Your impact will include: Representing the company before, interacting with, and lobbying state and local governments in your assigned region. Participating in and representing 3M’s positions on trade associations such as state Chambers of Commerce, Manufacturing Associations, and other relevant bodies. Drafting testimony, responses, comments, and conducting research to advance state and local government affairs. Monitoring and reporting legislative activity in your region, identifying issues relevant to 3M’s interests. Collaborating with internal, cross-functional stakeholders to develop policies, strategies, and advance the company’s agenda at the state and local levels. Participating in national organizations of legislators, governors, attorneys general, and others to strengthen relationships and promote 3M’s legislative goals. Managing consultants and administrative matters within your region. Your Skills and Expertise To succeed in this role from day one, 3M requires: A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. At least 8 years of experience working as a legislative aide at the state level, a state government employee, contract lobbyist, corporate lobbyist, or association lobbyist in private, public, government, or military sectors. Additional qualifications that could enhance your success include: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work independently. Work Location & Travel Remote work is possible if you are in IL, WI, CO, MO, IN, MI, or OH. Travel: Up to 20% domestic travel may be required. Relocation Assistance: May be provided. You must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship. For US applicants, the expected salary range is $212,947 - $260,268, including base pay and potential incentives. Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, location, and other factors.
