The Registered Nurse (RN) Float position provides experienced nurses the opportunity to care for diverse patient populations across various departments, including Med/Surg, Behavioral Health, and more. This full-time role involves working three 12-hour shifts per week with a requirement for weekend shifts, while utilizing advanced technology for communication and scheduling. Nurses will contribute to patient care innovations and receive robust support and benefits, including a sign-on bonus up to $20,000.

Department/Unit Summary
The Float Team at Conemaugh gives experienced nurses the opportunity to practice at the highest extent of their nursing license caring for a variety of patient populations. Assignments vary from day to day from Medical / Surgical assignments to Step-down (Surgical / PCU) to Behavioral Health. There also are opportunities to care for patients awaiting transfer to Med/Surg from our ER and ICU. Nursing Float assignments and provided education specialty areas include Palliative Care, Trauma, Surgery, Progressive Care/Telemetry, Neurology, Step-down ICU, and Behavioral Health. Nurses in our robust, experienced, and growing float team have the flexibility to work three 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am) a week with 50% weekend requirement per schedule. The float team leverages current communication and scheduling technology along with a large pool of staff to optimize schedule flexibility. Communication of daily float team assignments are easily accessible through available mobile applications on your handheld device.

Qualifications: Qualifications and requirements
Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associates or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
· Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
·2 years acute medical-surgical care
· BSN Preferred
· Basic Dysrhythmia preferred
· Critical Care Course preferred
· Trauma Course preferred
· Stroke Course preferred
· Experience in cardiac monitoring, neuro, critical care and IV Therapy preferred
