Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active OH or compact RN license and 18 months of recent specialty experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on a Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Requires working every other holiday
• Patient care involves medical-surgical and telemetry monitoring
• Responsibilities include caring for patients in a combined Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Testing for ECG rhythm recognition and SafeMedicate will be conducted during orientation, with two attempts allowed
• Permanent and per diem staff must wait one year before returning to work at the same facility
• Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Nurses are currently exempt from nicotine-free requirements
• Badging and fingerprinting must be completed onsite before the start date
• Compliance modules must be completed pre-start and annually as assigned
• Holiday coverage is required per facility policy
• Current travelers can only be submitted for one position at a time within the health system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum of 18 months permanent, recent Med/Surg Tele experience
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty is required
• Successful completion of ECG rhythm recognition test and SafeMedicate assessment during orientation
• No open background check cases and no license disciplinary actions
