The Heavy Civil Welder/Mechanic is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, and fabrication of heavy civil construction equipment, trucks, trailers, and attachments. This role requires strong welding and mechanical skills to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and operating efficiently in support of construction operations.Perform welding and fabrication on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, buckets, blades, frames, and structural components

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy civil construction equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance and routine service on equipment and fleet vehicles
• Repair cracks, wear points, and damaged components using MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
• Fabricate custom parts and make field repairs as needed
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and perform emergency repairs in the field or shop
• Inspect equipment for safety, wear, and compliance with company and DOT standards
• Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records
• Communicate equipment issues clearly with supervisors and operators
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and jobsite safety requirements
• Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and Welder
• Strong welding skills (MIG, TIG, Stick) on heavy steel and structural components
• Experience with heavy civil construction equipment
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and repair manuals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
