Bankruptcy Legal Assistant
We specialize in the representation of financial institutions, investors, title insurers, housing authorities and select businesses in all matters related to servicing, mortgage banking, consumer finance, title insurance, real estate finance, and the enforcement of mortgage loans.
This is a self-directed, detail-oriented position and we want someone who will be ready to jump in, take initiative, and hit the ground running.
Description:
As a Bankruptcy Legal Assistant, you will support attorneys with high-volume caseloads and frequently use vendor-related software. This is a self-directed and detail-oriented role, requiring a proactive individual who is ready to take initiative and quickly contribute. The position involves drafting proofs of claims and other pleadings, reviewing lengthy pay histories, and managing case files. You will also work with various systems such as VendorScape and LPS, ensuring all necessary updates are made in the in-house file tracking system.
In addition to managing 150+ case files, you will research process information, communicate with attorneys, clients, third parties (such as homeowners), and outside counsel, and act as the primary telephone contact for your caseload. You will also provide support to firm attorneys and may take on additional duties assigned by a direct bankruptcy supervisor.
