Position Summary

Brownfield Restoration Group LLC, an environmental consulting firm based in Akron, Ohio, has an opening for a full-time Field Geologist/Environmental Scientist. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience and be proficient in field work, logging soils, installing monitoring wells, and sampling soil, vapor, and ground water. Experience with remedial actions and BUSTR sites is a plus.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

· Conducting environmental field work, including soil, sediment, surface water, vapor and groundwater sampling utilizing various sampling techniques, monitoring well installation, well development, purging and sampling.

· Performing / conducting field subcontractor oversight inclusive of surveying, drilling, monitoring well construction, waste transportation, utility clearance and laboratory services.

· Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation. Compile and evaluate soil, groundwater, air, sediment and other environmental data.

· Communicate with subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.

Requirements:

· BS in geology, hydrogeology, environmental science, or environmental engineering required.

· Experience with monitoring well drilling, logging, installation and sampling; developing boring logs and review/interpretation of geological boring logs.

· Experience with collection of samples and interpretation of data pertaining to structural geology, groundwater, soil, indoor air, or soil vapor.

· Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Excel and Teams).

· Environmental field work experience and 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus. Selected candidate will be required to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training or annual refresher class, if needed.

· 75-80% regional travel with occasional overnight stays. No out of state or weekend travel required.

· Valid driver's license and a good driving record required.

· A pre-hire drug test is required.
