Position Summary:

The YMCA in Burlington, VT, is seeking a reliable and dedicated Parking Attendant and Enforcement Agent to manage parking areas and ensure compliance with parking regulations on our property. This role requires an individual who is comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions and can maintain a friendly yet firm presence while ensuring the safety and smooth operation of our parking lot.

Essential Functions

  • Monitor parking areas to ensure proper usage and compliance with parking regulations.
  • Enforce parking rules and policies, assist members and visitors with parking-related questions or concerns.
  • Provide clear communication to individuals violating parking policies and direct them to appropriate actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of citations, warnings, and parking violations.
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness and safety of the parking areas.
  • Assist with special events or peak times to manage parking effectively.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues in the parking areas to appropriate staff.
  • Work collaboratively with other YMCA staff to support a positive environment for all members and visitors.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions (rain, snow, cold, heat).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact respectfully with the public.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage paperwork related to citations and violations.
  • Ability to stay calm and professional in challenging or busy situations.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Prior experience in customer service or enforcement is a plus.
