OBGYN opening in IowaCarroll, IAFull TimeEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, procedures, and treatment as a physician of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN), in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.Conducts routine check-ups on patients.Records medical histories.Educate patients about disease prevention, detection, and reproductive health.Collaborate with other medical and on-medical personnel.Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.Takes part in providing on-call coverage for hospital services.Trains and supervises medical students and residents engaged in specialty activities and procedures, as appropriate.Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, Medical Staff Bylaws, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs.Keep up to date with current practices and innovations.Oversees, develops, and helps implement the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).Respond to emergency medical situations in an urgent manner and perform on the spot emergency assistance which may include first aid and/or CPR.Practices and behaves in a professional, safe and ethical manner at all times.Serves as a patient advocate.Maintains friendly and courteous interpersonal communication skills and a positive service attitude.Participates in performance improvement and educational activities. Completes all CEU s as required by respective licensure.
